Zé Ayala holds a B.A. in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, both from Harvard, and has three years of postdoctoral experience at the Institute of Molecular Evolutionary Genetics. He is the author of 15 publications in top-flight scientific journals, including Genetics, Molecular Biology and Evolution, and Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, and some of his research programs have garnered international attention in the popular as well as the scientific press, including Science, Nature, and several textbooks.

Carl

Carl Sturmer has over two decades of experience in the computer industry, specializing in object oriented and distributed computing architectures and infrastructures. As one of the founders of NetEffect Systems, he created the first of its kind, distributed chat based customer support systems. NetEffect was acquired by AskJeeves/Ask.com in 1999. As well, he led a team that transitioned the second largest oil and gas company in Canada to Object Oriented technology and was key in developing a global portfolio management system for UBS in Zurich.

Phuong Tranvan, CFA, has more than a decade of experience in the fields of corporate finance and investment management. Phuong received a bachelor's degree in Economics from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and an MBA from Columbia University. Previously, she was the Chief Investment Strategist for a boutique multi-family office. She has held her CFA designation since 2002 and is fluent in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.
